Neutrals

Guess who's back back again, Kendall's back tell a friend...  Emenim couldn't have written better lyrics for my return.  Since the last time I posted the weather has dropped 50 degrees.  The shorts and sundress have been shifted to the top of my closet, which I always take as the first true sign of winter, once I move the clothes up, they won't come down until spring (mostly because I'm too short to reach.)  Winter is my favorite season, Christmas, time with family, but also the opportunity to layer my clothing.  Nothing excites me more than being able to pile upon my self jackets, and scarfs, and sweaters to make never ending combinations of new and exciting outfits.

Here I took my four favorite fall staples, and paired them all together.  The great thing is that each and everyone one of them could be easily transitioned into infinite winter outfits.  My CLBD (casual little black dress) is a great base for any outfit, or can even be one on it's own with the zipper breast detail which gives it just the right level of excitement.  The black blazer, a recent TJMaxx find that I can't stop obsessing over was the perfect compromise between the plain black blazer I knew my closet needed, and the beautiful rose gold blazer I'd been drooling at on NastyGal.  The gold lapels are the perfect conversation piece (I can't tell you how my compliments I received.)  Everyone should have a great neutral coat that they can throw on over everything.  Mine was a great find from a local store owned by Max Azria that I scored for 75% last spring.  Black and brown are one of the chicest color combinations, and immediately elevate your elegance.  My final staple is a great pair of riding boots.  These Michael Kors boots were a steal from the Nordstrom anniversary sale 2 years ago.  If you have small feet like me, I would highly recommend checking out the kids shoe section.  Often times you can find kids shoes that look identical to the adult version for less than half the price!  Tell me in the comments below, what are your winter staples?
